Local Government departments are facing immediate financial pressures with an anticipated reduction in real funding. This exists in a climate with increased public pressure and scrutiny to deliver ever more effective and efficient services. Opportunities to make significant cost savings through rationalisation, including shared services with other regional government departments, have to be identified.
